Single or double head: which should I choose?
Choose the 550W double head for warmth on one wider area or on two neighbouring areas. Its two 275 W heads are set separately. The 275W single head warms one area at a time.
Can the two heads point in different directions?
Yes. Each head sits on its own gooseneck arm and turns through 360°, and each has its own timer and temperature setting.
How do I start?
Place each head at a comfortable distance, about 40 cm as described in the manual, and start with 10 to 15 minutes on each head's built-in timer.
How is this lamp different from a red light panel?
This is an infrared heat lamp: two bulbs give warmth you feel on the areas you aim them at. A red light panel such as the MARS 400 uses LEDs at fixed red and near-infrared wavelengths instead of heat bulbs.
What plug does it have?
The lamp comes with a UK-style three-pin plug (Type G).

Use and safety
How to use
- Assemble the lamp in seven steps with the supplied parts, as shown in the manual: wheels into the cross base, then the tube, the storage tray, the bulbs and the lamp shades.
- Pull the telescopic tube out by no more than two thirds of its length, so the stand stays stable.
- Switch on and let the lamp preheat for about one minute. On first use, or after a long break, a light white smoke can appear: it comes from moisture in the insulation and disappears after preheating.
- Aim each head at the area you want to warm, about 40 cm away, at a distance where the warmth feels comfortable.
- Start with 10 to 15 minutes and set the built-in timer for each head.
Before you use it
- Do not touch the bulbs, the lamp shades or the metal grids while the lamp is on or still hot.
- Do not look directly into the light.
- Never pour water or other liquids on a hot lamp.
- Keep children supervised by an adult while the lamp is in use.
- Stay awake while the lamp is on; do not fall asleep with it switched on.
- Stop if the heat feels uncomfortable or if you notice an allergic reaction.
- Do not use on irritated or damaged skin.
- Seek advice from a qualified professional before use if you are sensitive to heat, have reduced skin sensation, are pregnant or have a relevant medical condition.
- Let the lamp cool before moving it.
